On April 5, 2007 before a packed house at the Portsmouth Music Hall, Richard Trethewey, the mechanical system expert who appears on the Emmy-award winning PBS television series "This Old House," lead a lively interactive event on solutions to our multiple energy problems. A world traveler, Trethewey is a strong proponent of conservation and of improving the efficiency of how America heats its homes and businesses. Topics for discussion included climate change, dependence on politically unstable parts of the world for oil, and the compromising of American values that decrease national and economic security.
Sharing the stage with Trethewey were fellow panelists Dr. Tom Kelly, Director of UNH Office of Sustainability; Dr. Cameron Wake, Research Associate Professor at the UNH Climate Change Research Center and co-author of Climate Change in the U.S. Northeast; and Denise Blaha and Julia Dundorf, founders of the New Hampshire Carbon Challenge. The proceedings were emceed by Lamprey Brothers President Joanne Lamprey.
