Mary Lou Wollmar, the Chairman of the North Hampton Energy Committee says, “The ‘Walk the Talk’ award is presented to an individual who exemplifies excellence in the field of working toward renewable and sustainable energy.”  Wollmar adds “I am so impressed with Joanne's mission to ‘help people burn less oil’ and her generous gift to the Seacoast community by hosting educational seminars to the public.  These events offer our community tools and insights on how people can reduce their fossil fuel consumption, save money and help the environment and they have been ongoing for more than two years, starting with the event This Old Planet Needs a Friend, held at the Music Hall in Portsmouth, NH.”

The North Hampton Energy Committee believes in providing education about sustainable energy practices to the residents of North Hampton, NH.  They encourage residents to calculate their usage of fossil fuels, reduce wherever possible and save the environment from pollution, saving residents of North Hampton money as well.  The Committee also takes part in helping municipalities evaluate the use of fossil fuel and energy they are consuming.
