North Hampton, NH – Lamprey Brothers, an energy company in North Hampton, NH is taking another small step to help reduce the Seacoast’s carbon footprint with the help of Simply Green in Stratham, NH, a biofuels company.  Simply Green is now providing biodiesel (B20) to Lamprey Brothers oil delivery trucks so they will burn cleaner fuel.  

“We have been a fan of Lamprey Brothers since they were introduced to us in April of 2007 when they held their event, This Old Planet Needs a Friend,” says Andrew Kellar, Manager of Simply Green.  “They truly believe in helping their customers reduce their energy consumption and thus their impact on the environment.”   

Discussions to provide Lamprey Brothers with B20 began at an Energy Expo in South Berwick, ME in which both companies were participants.  Simply Green recently went though a transportation audit with www.carbonfreedom.org to determine how much carbon their truck emits when delivering to their customers.  Through this process they were able to determine their total carbon footprint and invest in carbon credits that are directly invested into methane farms, offsetting greenhouse gas emissions and making carbon-free deliveries to all their customers.  

“Simply Green is filling a void on the Seacoast, as this area does not yet have enough biodiesel gas stations to really allow regular use of biodiesel, yet using biodiesel is such a simple way to help reduce energy consumption, which will help to reduce our dependency on foreign oil.  Their setup allows people to obtain B20 cost efficiently with no hassle,” says Joanne Lamprey, President of Lamprey Brothers.

Lamprey Brothers continues to host after-hours seminars for their customers and community that offer insight into alternative energy solutions they now offer such as solar, geothermal and BioHeat®.  These interactive seminars also incorporate simple initiatives homeowners can do to reduce their energy consumption.
