North Hampton, NH – If you missed the event that changed the way many people along the Seacoast are consuming energy this year, an event that picked up where An Inconvenient Truth left off, not to worry – you can now watch it for free anytime you want. This Old Planet Needs a Friend, an interactive event hosted by Lamprey Brothers discusses climate change and a variety of ways people can prevent it using alternative energy solutions. Now available on DVD and the World Wide Web at lampreybrothers.com is This Old Planet Needs a Friend. It includes special guest Richard Trethewey of the Emmy award winning PBS TV series "This Old House".
“We held this event at the Portsmouth Music Hall and played to a capacity audience. We know many people wanted to attend, but couldn’t, due to limited seating,” says Joanne Lamprey, President of Lamprey Brothers. “We are now able to give everyone and anyone the opportunity to sit back, enjoy the show and learn about climate change in the Northeast and a variety of alternative energy solutions for everyone’s budget. Our goal is to help people consume less oil, reduce their energy consumption, and save money. We hope this video will provide people with enough information to make some informed choices.”
One of the biggest supporters of This Old Planet Needs a Friend is the Mary E. Bartlett Library in Brentwood, NH. Marilyn Morehead, Mary E. Bartlett’s librarian, says, “The idea of an oil company trying to reduce people’s oil consumption is truly an amazing concept. This event brought people in, empowering them to understand the problems we are facing with climate change and how we can all make a difference moving forward. We will have this DVD available as a resource in our library for people to check out so that they can learn about alternative energy solutions.”
“We believe in teaching our community about different ways they can help reduce their energy consumption, providing different options that are within people’s budgets. This DVD is the perfect place to start for anyone who wants to learn about what is available in our region to properly heat their home or on a smaller level, ways that even changing a light bulb can make a difference,” says Kerry Cronin, of the Rye Public Library.
