North Hampton, NH – As the need to offer more alternative energy solutions heats up, Lamprey Brothers gears up to offer BioHeat to their home comfort portfolio of products and services.

 Effective August 1, 2007, Lamprey Brothers will offer one of the first alternative heating fuels that is expected to meet American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) approval for heating equipment; 5% BioHeat (B5).  BioHeat is any blend of pure biodiesel with conventional home heating oil.   Biodiesel at 20%, known as B20 meets ASTM specifications for light to heavy duty vehicular diesel engines.  BioHeat at 20%, also known as B20, has not been approved for heating equipment by industry equipment manufacturers.   

“We went with B5 because we want to give peace of mind to our customers that nothing will happen to their heating equipment if they decide to switch over to this product,” says Joanne Lamprey, President of Lamprey Brothers.  “It is very important to us at Lamprey Brothers that we can continue to honor service agreements and warranties that cover heating equipment, and B5 will assure that security, where at this point, 20% BioHeat does not.”
